Well here it is Folks! Version 2.0 is out now!
Well what a whirlwind adventure this has been. But here we are!
Version 1 was awesome and worked very well, it had its flaws, but it was (and is) a stellar release. However we wanted more and so did you. So we asked what you wanted, you told us and for the most part we listened.
You asked for recurring invoices, you got it!
Now you can offload all that tedious recurring billing to Pancake and have it do all the work. Need to send a monthly hosting invoice? Let Pancake do it, set it to send at the interval you want and it will send the invoices at that time!
Project Management? Sure!
We kept it simple, you should be working on the task at hand, not spending 10 minutes entering it into your project management app! Now you can track projects, assign tasks to them with hourly rate, log the time you spent and when you are all done, click a button and Pancake will create an invoice with those tasks (and hourly rates) as line items! Seriously simple project management, time tracking and invoicing!
Oh yeah, one more thing, we fixed that darn PDF bug ;) While we are talking about themes, we included a newer, nicer one and made it even easier to make themes for Pancake for yourself or others!
So who are the guys behind Pancake?
Lee Tengum - (Founder/developer): Lee is the guy who came up with Pancake and built the original version which stemed from a need to get paid and a dodgy client. He is a father of two boys (Hunter and Sawyer), loves his wife Karen (@nerakmugnet), is big fan of good quality beers and all things funny. For many years he wore a green uniform and played in the forest then moved on to a gray suit and a corporate environment. Now he can often be found without pants in his kick ass home office or loitering in a coffee shop leaching wifi (with pants of course). He created DearIE6, Twessage! and absolutely cannot write his own bio so this is it for now until someone else writes it :p
Dan Horrigan - (developer): Code Monkey Dan has been developing PHP since 2000. Over the past few years he has contributed to many open source projects such as CodeIgniter and PyroCMS. He has released many libraries for CodeIgniter and for a brief stint, worked for EllisLab as a Support Specialist for MojoMotor and also helped fix bugs when they popped up. He is the creator and lead developer of the new PHP 5.3 framework Fuel, which is quickly gaining traction. Dan is the kind of guy who thinks a great night out is staying at home releasing apps people will love and helping people on twitter.
Phil Sturgeon - (developer): Phil is our kick ass coding "bloke" from the UK. He is a hater of good bacon, loves Lemonade in his beer, lucky charms and throwing himself in a tiny boat into rivers most people would drown in. Phil brings his ability to quickly turn a concept into working functionality and keen eye for stellar code to Pancake. He is the lead developer and founder of PyroCMS, a contributor to Fuel Framework and CodeIgniter
Zack Kitzmiller - (developer): has been developing PHP since 2003. Worked for clients like Bartle, Bogle, & Hegarty and, and was CTO for AMPC. He is the lead developer for mojoaddons.com, has contributed to open source projects like CodeIgniter, holds a monthly PHP meetup, and also tutors local Computer Science students. His propensity for writing stellar code is only surpassed by his ability to school you on the type of hops in a craft beer. Don't believe me? Buy him a beer the next time you see him and prepare to be schooled son! When not rocking the pants off Pancake, he is also currently a developer at Forrst.
There really is so much in this release and we are very proud of it. We hope you ♥ it like we do!
